Pikey Peak Trek Itinerary

Arrive at Tribhuvan Inteational Airport in Kathmandu. Meet our representative and transfer to your respective pre-booked hotel. After check-in, briefing about the trek and preparation for the journey. Oveight in Kathmandu.

Overnight: Hotel (1,324m)

The drive from Kathmandu to Dhap can be done by private vehicle or a local shared public bus from Kathmandu. The first few hours of the journey follow a reasonably comfortable highway (by Nepal standards). Much of the route runs alongside the Sunkoshi River, a major river in eastern Nepal that is popular for rafting. After reaching the town of Okhaldhunga, the road gradually climbs toward Dhap, taking around 3 more hours. The road condition is generally quite good. Traveling to Dhap by shared public bus requires changing vehicles due to off-road sections after some distance.

Overnight: Lodge (2,850m)

Start the trek through beautiful rhododendron forests and traditional Sherpa villages. Enjoy views of Everest, Numbur, and other Himalayan peaks along the trail. Oveight at a lodge in Jhapre.

Walking time: 4-5 hours 

Overnight: Lodge (2,820m)

Continue trekking through yak pastures and alpine landscapes. Gradually ascend to Pikey Peak Base Camp while enjoying stunning mountain views. Oveight at Base Camp.

Walking time: 5-6 hours

Overnight: Lodge (3,640m)

Early moing hike to Pikey Peak summit, famous for its panoramic sunrise views over Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and other Himalayan ranges. After enjoying the scenery, descend and trek to Serlo Monastery.

Walking time: 6-7 hours

Ovenight: Lodge (2,700m Serlo Monastery and 4,065m peaky peak summit)

Trek through peaceful forests and traditional Sherpa settlements. Arrive at the beautiful Sherpa village of Junbesi, known for its monasteries and rich culture.

Walking time: 1 hour.

Overnight: Lodge (2,700m)

Climb gradually to Taksindu La Pass, offering impressive views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Visit Taksindu Monastery and enjoy the peaceful environment. 

Walking time: 5-6 hours

Overnight: Lodge (2,960m

Descend through forests and villages to Phaplu, the district headquarters of Solukhumbu. The trail passes terraced farms and local settlements.

Walking time: 5-6 hours

Ovenight: Lodge (2,400m)

Return journey from Phaplu to Kathmandu by private jeep for large group and local bus small group. The drive takes around 8–9 hours. Transfer to the hotel upon arrival.

Driving time: 8-9 hours

Overnight: Hotel 

Free day for rest, shopping, or sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley (Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, or Pashupatinath). Farewell dinner in the evening.

Transfer to Tribhuvan Inteational Airport for your onward flight. End of the trip.
